A daughter of Scots singer David Kennedy (1825-1886) and ‘sub-professor’ at the Royal Academy of Music. Her musical siblings were baritone James, contralto Kate, a contralto, soprano Lizzie, and Marjory Kennedy-Fraser, famous as collector and arranger of Hebridean song.
On these recordings she is accompanied on piano by her sister Marjory, who was also arranger.
