This Irish musician had a strong influence on the music of a number of young Scottish fiddle players in the 1970s and 80s, stylistically and through his unique interpretation of music from the Scottish repertory.

The following three tracks were recorded at an informal workshop and conversation at the Edinburgh Fiddle Festival in 2005. Although a microphone failure rendered the dialogue severely impaired, it has been possible to salvage the music played. It is hoped that a text transcription of the conversation can be included in due course.
