Bagpipes, whistles, saxophone, composer

From West Aberdeenshire, but now residing in Fife, this musician has made music with a wide range of artists covering folk, jazz and beyond, his instrumental choices partly accounting for his explorative style that sits astride several genres at once.

He has issued seven albums of original music, from ‘Honest Water’ (2001) to ‘In  Mumbai’ (2020), and has performed with Capercaillie, Grit Orchestra, Zakir Hussein, Nedyalko Nedyalkov, Sabir Khan, Old Blind Dogs and many others.

He is currently concerned with creating new music inspired by bagpipes and specifically the tradition of piobaireachd.

In regards that matter

This track is the first in a planned series of commissions by Raretunes from Scottish musicians during the period of Covid 19.


The following two tracks were recorded at a concert in honour odf the late Tony Cuffe held at St Sndrew in the Square, Glagsow in early 2003.
