My Granny’s brother Alec Bisset led a band with a rotating line up that also featured my Uncle John on mandolin, my Grandad’s cousin Alec Gill on banjo and my Grandad on fiddle and jaw harp. There are stories that they sometimes featured a bellows pipe player nicknamed The Captain, but I have frustratingly been unable to find out any more about him.
